Michael DeDonder PT, DPTDoctor of Physical Therapy
Michael joined the Mathis team in June of 2014 following physical therapy school at KU Medical Center in Kansas City. Prior to PT school, he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Kinesiology from Kansas State University in 2009 and 2011, respectively. He has completed the Therapeutic Pain Specialist (TPS) Certification through the International Spine and Pain Institute. Michael was raised in Emporia, but has always been a K-State fan – going to games since he was an infant. Michael brings his energetic and upbeat personality to treatment sessions. He is focused on current practices and research to provide the best care for each of his patients. Michael is Astym certified and actively pursues continuing education courses to further his knowledge. He enjoys treating all types of people, but has an interest in young athletes, low back pain, neck pain, pain science, and post-surgical patients. Michael would be happy to help in any way he can to make you a better version of you!
Tony Hentzen PT, DPTDoctor of Physical Therapy
A native of Seward, Nebraska, Tony received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from University of Nebraska Lincoln in 2008. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2013. Tony is passionate about implementing evidence-based practice, focusing on injury prevention, and promoting healthy lifestyles in order to improve the quality of life for his patients. Tony has advanced training in therapeutic dry needling. Tony is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association as well as the Kansas Physical Therapy Association. Tony has worked in both Omaha, NE and Kansas City before he joined the Mathis physical therapy team in 2017.
Luke Henry PT, DPT, Cert. MDTDirector, Doctor of Physical Therapy
A native of Clay Center, Kansas, Luke received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Kansas State University in 1999. He received his Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 2001 from the University of Kansas Medical Center. Luke has been practicing in outpatient orthopedics settings since 2001 with a special interest in spinal rehabilitation. He completed his Certification in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) for treatment of spinal disorders through the McKenzie Institute International in 2008. Luke received his clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Kansas in 2009. Luke is a member of the American Physical therapy Association, National Strength and Conditioning Association and the McKenzie Institute International. Luke joined the Mathis Physical Therapy team in 2009.
Trent Terrill PT, DPTDoctor of Physical Therapy
A native of Smith Center, KS, Trent received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Bethany College in 2013. He went on to the University of Kansas Medical Center to complete his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2016. Trent is a member of both the American Physical Therapy Association and the Kansas Physical Therapy Association. He has experience in outpatient orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, acute inpatient rehab and pediatric care. He has plans to continue his education to expand his orthopedics expertise through a variety of continuing education courses. His special interests are sports rehab and post-op care.
Jessica Husman OTOccupational Therapist
Jessica and her husband moved to Kansas in March 2016, originally from Sioux Falls, SD. Jessica received her undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2011 from the University of Sioux Falls. She then went on to earn her Doctorate of Occupational therapy degree from Creighton University, graduated in December 2015. Jessica is certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT), a Parkinson’s Disease treatment and IASTM. Jessica has a special interest in hand therapy and the upper extremity. Jessica enjoys running, crafting, and spending time with her husband, daughter, and her 2 labradoodle dogs.
Kelli Pettijohn CPTAPhysical Therapist Assistant
Kelli is originally from Brookville, KS and graduated from Kansas State University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s in Animal Science. After moving to Montana after graduation, Kelli went back to school at Montana State University of Great Falls where she earned her Associate of Applied Science to become a Physical Therapist Assistant in 2013. Since then, Kelli has worked in numerous physical therapy settings including outpatient, skilled nursing, acute care, and aquatic. In her spare time, Kelli enjoys cycling, riding horses, going to K-State sporting events, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
Nicole Tyson CPTAPhysical Therapist Assistant
A native of Beloit, Kansas, Nicole received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Kansas State University in 2014. She continued with her education and received her Associate of Applied Science Degree to become a Physical Therapist Assistant from Kansas City Kansas Community College in 2016. Nicole has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2014. Nicole has had experience in outpatient orthopedics, inpatient rehab, and home health.
